I'm an aesthetic virgin.
In life, pigs might fly. Booked an appointment, took 2 hours off work then magic happened. The fact that my face was about to be peeled gave me sweaty brows. Thank goodness I was in good hands because Dr. Elaine consulted me pre-treatment to explain on the process and what protective action should be done post treatment to achieve the best results possible. We shall get to that in a bit.
Taking the decision to take a step into aesthetic skin treatment was the best decision ever made. One week post treatment was the period where my skin was at the sexiest and healthiest stage. Pores diminished, scars lightened and skin texture felt like a slice of velvet cake. Dang you think I'm lying eh? Even till now (3 weeks post treatment), I still believe that the skin peel rejuvenated my complexion and gave life to the already tired looking skin.
If you are curious how my first ever;
Aesthetic treatment went;
Keep on reading darling.
Upon arrival, I was greeted with soft classical music. A good piece of music from Chopin never fails to calm my nerves. After confirming that I'm not underage (okjustjokingitwasregistration), I was brought to the treatment room where Dr. Elaine was. Here's the breakdown of what to expect:
. How It Works
- Removes the top layer of skin, and is done by applying a peeling solution to the skin. This aids in the removal of dead skin cells on the surface and reveals a fresh layer of skin, which is generally smoother and healthier than previous layer.
- You should experience a burning sensation during the initial application. During the treatment, a device over your face will blow out cool air, considerably reducing the sting and cold compress will be applied after completion to help with cooling.
. Post Treatment
- Most individuals are recommended a cycle of 2-4 peels but this depends on the patient's condition as well as intended results. Each session should be 4 weeks apart. You should also minimize any sun exposure and apply sunscreen for up to 1 week or so.
When the peeling solution was first applied, I experienced a slight discomfort as my face 'heated up' and eyes watered due to the strong 'acidic' sensation. The first minute was pretty intense! If you encounter that yourself, don't worry darling because it's temporary. Just a little under 3 minutes, Dr. Elaine wiped off the solution and my skin went into the 'cooling period' were the nurses placed a cold towel and set me aside while it does it's magic. As I was about to leave, the lovely nurses applied sunscreen on me even it was almost 7pm with barely any sunlight left but that's how important post treatment was.
Skin peel is priced at RM450 per session, it would be great to have it done once a month or in my case once every quarter. I find it more effective than just facial. If you aren't satisfied with conventional facials, I'd say give this a go. Treating our skin from down under works much better than scrapping through the surface. At the age of 23 (coming 24 this December), it's time we take care and preserve the condition of our skin before it's too late. Just in case you're wondering, I'm not paid to say any of this. As a child growing up feeling self-conscious about how my skin looks, I felt the need to share my experience and the results I've gotten from this treatment. Can't wait for the next pick me up!
One day post treatment with zero irritation.
