Update

.01 Travels

Currently at the 3rd phase of Back-to-Back travels.
A 4th phase coming up real soon and I'm not at all complaining!
Expecting a getaway to somewhere tropical and hair caressed by salty wind.
Our recent trip to Taipei was magnificent. Gorgeous food and the weather was beyond perfect. Took some really good shots of the city from my eyes.

The more I travel, the more I enjoy the art of packing light. Packed everything in a carry on but plan changed because I had to lug my laptop along for work and assignment, otherwise a carry on would suffice. By the way, how gorgeous does this skirt looks? I'm in love. Outfit post coming up real soon.

.02 Work

FINALLY.
Work schedule gets back on track.
May or may not sound like a nut head but trust me, having a schedule packed with things to do and places to go fuels my soul. I have a feeling the 2nd half of year 2017 would be lunatic. Can't wait.

.03 Life

Slacking on exercising for the past 2 months didn't do my body any good. Not that I've gained weight but I feel like my body isn't as strong as before. Posture starts to get slouchy and most parts of my body feels flabby. Committed to make a change. We shall see.

#GIRLPOWER

That's all for now.
Lunch break is over and I have a meeting coming up in 30 minutes.
Can you believe it's May already?
Someone please stop the clock from ticking! x

2017 RESOLUTIONS

PRETTY SURE BAKING WAS PART OF MY 2016 RESOLUTION...

AS mainstream at it sounds, I revisited my 2016 resolution and reflected on it. Can't believe I've only had 3 resolutions last year because it felt like 30. Thankgoodness I've achieved everything except for learning how to bake like the mother of cookies. Year 2017 was a year of self exploration. Also the year which marks the end of something which has been holding me back eversince. Didn't focus too much on growing but we all know that GROWTH isn't optional. It came along as I focused on understanding my true self. It's an adventure that'll never stop because true enough, I haven't been focusing on myself at all to deserve what my mind and body contributed to me these years.

"I HARDLY EVER STOP DOING ANYTHING"

I'VE never stopped working. My plate was always filled with things I love but there wasn't a slot for me to step back and do nothing. Being productive is absolutely great but it hit me real hard several times last year where I was shaking with tiredness and my sight got blurry but I bit the bullet and powered through still. This could sound insane but at that point of time, my mind was telling me to go forward and I felt it was the right thing to do. Don't get me wrong, my body was in good shape and I was physically the fittest and healthiest I've been in years. Mentally very strong as well. In honesty 360/366 days were spent feeling grateful and bloody happy.

TRAVELLED to:
Krabi, Thailand.
Perth, Australia.
Guangzhou, China.
Shenzhen, China.
Hong Kong, China.
Bangkok, Thailand.
Osaka, Japan.
Kyoto, Japan.
Nara, Japan.
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam,
Mui Ne, Vietnam.

THIS 2017 I WANT TO..

. 01 BE SELFISH

Give myself more time for a breather. Be less harsh. Enough said.

. 02 BAKE
Back to when I was a teenager, my 'career' goal for life was to be a housewife.
Amazing how a person could change over time. wheresmyreportwhathousewifecomeon.
Baked chocolate chip cookies a few weeks back and for a virgin baker dang were they presentable.
For the next bake, I'll be cutting 50% off the recommended sugar input because I'm an old lady that doesn't have a sweet tooth.
Jokes aside, time to get back into baking.
If you have an easy chocolocate chip cookie recipe, please share.

That's all for now as things get dirty and messy in the kitchen.
List of resolutions to be updated as at when anything hits me. Because how is 2 ever enough?
What are your resultions for 2017? x
Happy March Love.

5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY

. ZALORA slingbacks .
[use 'ZBAPQLL' for extra 15% off]

.01 CUT DOWN ON GOING OUT
Yumcha a.k.a. Drinks Session
Shopping
Movie Night

.02 GO LOW MAINTENANCE
Haircut ['Bangs' can be cute but visiting the salon every 2 weeks can be a hassle]
Haircolour [Haircolour that requires bleaching can be fun. But touching up roots can be costly]
Hair Removal [Waxing? Why not opt for laser hair removal. Cost saving in the long run]

.03 INVEST IN GOOD SKINCARE AND STICK TO IT
Monthly facial visits might not cost a lot in a glance but add that up to your skincare budget and compare that amount to your housing/car installment, it can be substantial.  Make laser/aesthetic treatment a 'TREAT' but not an essential. Better off converting additional beauty treatments into shares or other investment medium.

.04 MEASURE THEN BUY
Know how much you consume and actually NEED. I suggest buying products on a replenishment basis only. By the end of the year, you'll see how much cash you've saved. Through travelling and being constantly on the go, I've learnt that I need very little to get through life. 5 tubs of body lotion and 7 bottles of moisturizer is unnecessary. I keep brow pencil and lip products to the bare minimum and only use the few that I truly love. Beauty products can be costly and would expire averagely in 12 months' time.
Purchasing too many of the same products will end up being thrown away.

What I use:
- Oskia Cleansing Gel (100ML) - 4 months [RM140 x 3 = RM 520]
- Pixi Glowtonic (250ML) - 4-5 months [RM85 x 3 = RM 255]
- Aesop Parsley Seed Serum (100ML) - 4 months [RM220 x 3 = RM 660]
- Khiels Midnight Recovery Concentrate (30ML) - 4 months [RM220 x 3 = RM660]
- Skinfood Black Sugar Mask (100ML) - 6 months [RM35 x 2 = RM70]
- Laura Mercier Primer (50ML) - 6 months [RM180 x 2 = RM360]
- Laura Mercier Foundation(30ML) - 8-9 months [RM 230]
- Shampoo (30ML) - 3 weeks
- Shower Gel (100ML) - 5 months
- Body Lotion (100ML) - 3 months

The bulk of my regime costs approximately RM3000 annually. This excludes haircut, quarterly facial sessions and occasional gel manicure.
Strongly recommend to stick to a beauty budget. There is no one to blame when you couldn't afford to pay your bills or an annual getaway.

.05 COST PER WEAR/USE
I've always emphasized that its wiser to spend $1000 on a pair shoes/trousers that you wear 3 days a week than a $100 dress you'll wear only once.
Find a balancing point between the price tag and the frequency of wear/use. Create a habit of looking at the product first before the price tag.
Rationalize a purchase based on whether you think you need it, and not by the price tag.
Don't buy something just because it's on sale or because you think you MIGHT need it. Trust me, you don't.

ONLY BUY SOMETHING YOU CAN AFFORD
DON'T BUY ANYTHING ON CREDIT
AND LAST MOST IMPORTANTLY
NEVER GO IN DEBT.

BE MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND FINANCIALLY STRONG. Enjoy being a woman but also bear in mind that we have power over our own finances. Put money into education funds, travel, investments, retirement and even building your first bucket of gold. If not now, then when? Through phases as a teenager and now as a woman,  I've always been savvy.  Majorly cut down on monthly haircuts, facials and shopping therapy. Anywhoo, I still treat myself when along the way. Its the joy of buying things I love and treating myself well, but only spending within limits after planting seeds for my own future.
